Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. Drawing from traditions such as Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, and traditional Japanese methods, Reiki teaches that “rei” means universal and “ki” means life force energy. This vital energy flows through all living beings and can be harnessed to restore balance and support healing.
In this training, Jo will guide participants through the foundations of Reiki with an approach that is both trauma-sensitive and deeply personal. Reiki involves the practitioner placing their hands on or near the recipient’s body to channel energy. The goal is relaxation, stress reduction, and supporting the body’s natural healing processes. When life force energy is blocked or disrupted, it can lead to imbalance. By channeling Reiki, practitioners help clear these blockages, restoring flow and vitality.
This training is for anyone curious about exploring themselves more deeply. You don’t need plans to become a Reiki practitioner—simply bring your curiosity and openness. If you do wish to share Reiki with clients, you’ll also gain the knowledge and tools to get started. Reiki is especially valuable for those who teach restorative yoga, guide breathwork, or work in therapeutic settings, offering a powerful complement to existing practices.
