Kerry Ratza
-
Kerry believes Pilates should meet you exactly where you are. With a background in classical training, she teaches “the body in front of her”—every session is customized to your unique needs, goals, and abilities. Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or a seasoned mover, Kerry will guide you to connect deeply with your body through precise, intentional movement.
-
Personalized approach: Kerry begins by understanding your background, injuries, or goals. From there, she sequences the session in real time, adjusting as needed.
Clothing & mindset: Wear form-fitting, comfortable clothes. Arrive curious and open to learning.
Equipment: Sessions use a blend of reformer, mat, and specialized Pilates equipment. Kerry often follows a “20-20-10” format (20 minutes mat, 20 minutes reformer, 10 minutes on equipment like the chair or Cadillac) but adapts to each client.
No music: Silence is intentional. Without distraction, you can focus on breath, alignment, and the cues that help you connect to your powerhouse.
-
Tailored progression: Group classes move at a set pace. In a private, Kerry matches the intensity to your exact level.
Deeper education: Learn how to move safely and effectively, building a strong foundation before progressing to advanced work.
Hands-on guidance: Kerry observes every detail of your form, ensuring you get the most out of every exercise.
-
Beginners who want to learn the fundamentals correctly.
Busy professionals seeking focused, efficient training.
Dancers, athletes, and performers looking to refine their strength and alignment.
Adults seeking longevity through functional movement and resistance training.
Anyone ready to commit to learning their body with patience and curiosity.
-
Pilates is more than exercise—it’s a mind-body practice that transforms how you move, breathe, and live. Kerry emphasizes:
Breathwork: Every session begins here to help you find focus and connect inward.
Foundation first: Building strength and form before advancing to complex moves.
Adaptability: Each body is unique. Kerry honors that with customized sequencing.
Education: Clients leave sessions not just stronger, but smarter about their bodies.
-
To feel the benefits, Kerry recommends starting with a package of four private sessions.
This gives your body time to adapt and allows her to personalize your program. Many clients continue weekly or bi-weekly sessions to complement group classes or other training.
Melissa Träumerin
-
Melissa was trained classically through Peak Pilates. She is also certified in yoga and ballet-inspired barre, and you will experience the fusion of all three mind-body disciplines in your sessions with her.
While Melissa is not a therapist, often her clients refer to their sessions as their “therapy sessions.” She believes this transformational power of Pilates experienced in the mind and emotions, as well as the body, is summarized by one of Joseph Pilates quotes, “Change happens through movement, and movement heals.”
-
In your first session, Melissa will give a brief overview of Pilates and its history. She’ll introduce you to the equipment, especially if you are new to working on the Pilates apparatus. Melissa may ask some general health questions and seek out your personal goals for Pilates. Then, she’ll get you moving. She will assess your current working level. The first session may be a bit slower as Melissa really gets to your biomechanics. With a good idea of your biomechanics, she ends the session creating your Pilates plan.
Beyond the first session, Melissa begins by checking in with how you feel physically, mentally, emotionally. All the layers of the body show up and impact your Pilates needs for that day. Melissa’s goal is to connect you deeply with your own body and progress you safely in your Pilates journey towards wellbeing.
-
The main benefit to working one-on-one is that every aspect of your Pilates session is tailored to your specific physical, mental, and emotional needs present that day. Working privately, Melissa can create a movement plan that honors your body’s specific biomechanics. You’ll be able to progress and see results more quickly.
-
Everyone. Joseph Pilates originally created the equipment to help rehabilitate the injured and help them regain strength. Later the equipment became useful in progressing students beyond the traditional mat Pilates class.
Private Pilates is especially great for those who are not comfortable working out in a group setting.
Private Pilates is also for those wishing to age well. Pilates strengthens the stabilizer muscles which support the posture and the joints.
-
Melissa believes the best movement practice for you is the movement you enjoy. Her clients often refer to private sessions on the Pilates apparatus as “recess.” It should be fun and something you look forward to in your week. That is the secret to staying consistent.
-
There is a famous Joseph Pilates quote, “In ten sessions, you’ll feel a difference. In twenty sessions, you’ll see a difference. In thirty sessions, you’ll have a whole new body.”
Melissa recommends trying private Pilates for at least for 10 sessions. With that level of commitment, you’ll be able to know whether you truly feel a difference (Melissa notes, though, that often clients can feel a difference in just one session).
As far as the whole new body, working biweekly towards your Pilates goals will get you there sooner.
Melissa also notes that “whole new body” isn’t what we in the western world often think of as some ideal magazine, model-like shape, but rather a whole new connection to your body and an understanding of how it moves.
