Olive Joan Theodore
A multidimensional teacher who views yoga as a practice of rewilding - an invitation to return to natural rhythms, deep intuition, and innate wholeness.
Her teaching blends intentional movement, adventurous meditation, and liberating breathwork. Olive’s classes offer presence, depth, and stillness to support nervous system regulation, deep rest, and embodied connection, specializing in adaptations for those with trauma or limited mobility.
Rooted in her studies of yoga and meditation in India, Olive’s practice integrates ancient wisdom with modern times. In one-on-one sessions, she weaves vagal language, somatic process, creative expression, and healing touch to release tension and cultivate vitality.
She also offers playful, empowering yoga for children and leads circles that incorporate storytelling, ritual, and group dialogue - fostering collective visioning, resilience, and social impact.
Olive’s practice is deeply connected to her environmental advocacy, which spans from local waterways to global oceanic initiatives. This connection to nature informs her approach to yoga as both personal and collective restoration.
She is honored to teach at Ahimsa, welcoming students of all backgrounds, bodies, and life experiences.

Join us in the new year for our new class series. Rooted is a once-monthly grounding practice that explores the wisdom of the human body through the natural world. Each class centers on a single plant, drawing inspiration from its structure, resilience, and medicine to inform movement, breath, and awareness. This slow, intentional practice blends somatic yoga, gentle flow, and guided reflection to support nervous system regulation, embodied presence, and connection to the earth. Students are invited to move with curiosity, listen inwardly, and experience how plant intelligence mirrors our own anatomy and capacity for balance and growth. Emphasizing presence over performance, Rooted offers a ritual-style gathering that supports grounding, integration, and seasonal alignment through movement, rest, and shared reflection.
