2005 was the first time I found myself in a yoga studio. I was living in San Francisco and a friend invited me to join her, it was a bikram class. At that time I had no idea what this path would be like but I knew I wanted to explore more of it. Many years and many styles of yoga later I felt it was time for me to embark in a teacher training, and I found myself all the way in Oslo. That first 200 hour training barely scratched the surface for me and I needed to know more so in I went for the next level. I love this path and this journey.
My favorite thing about teaching yoga is sharing with others the many benefits of yoga. I remember standing in a very awkward pose in one of the Iyengar classes I used to take and my teacher just looked at us and said “why do you resist the sensations of life”? I was floored. That quote has stuck with me. Every time things get hard, or feel especially good I try to remember her words and focus on being present in the moment and my body. I believe that is the path of yoga.
