Andrea Hildebrandt

Instructor

Andrea brings a love of nature, music, literature and play into her classes. As a life long Yoga student who started her practice in mediation as a young adult with her college religious studies professor, Mary Jo Meadows, she’s woven its teachings into all of her major life events like moving across country, marriage, giving birth and raising children. After practicing for over 30 years it’s her medicine. It beautifully bridges her love of teaching, nature, youth, yoga and being a life long learner. Andrea has experience as a naturalist, pre-school teacher, a K-12 museum natural history and physics educator, a K-5 garden education teacher and kids yoga teacher. Currently, she teaches outdoor environmental education for IslandWood throughout the school year and is the founder of In Bloom Kids Yoga & Gardening where she offers summer and after school programs to community in Queen Anne and surrounding neighborhoods.

As a certified SKY Kids and Family Yoga Teacher, she is thrilled to share the benefits of yoga with young people, families and the community. Holding space to practice in an easeful, fun and creative way with kids and families is an honor. With sweet encouragement, Andrea guides students to open up to their personal power, embrace obstacles as learnings and laugh tenderly at mistakes. Andrea is always deepening her personal practice through retreats and continuing yoga education, in turn, expanding her offerings in the studio and on the mat. Her personal mantra; “I am the steward of my heart, breath, body & spirit. As I plant, water and fertilize my garden, I plant, water and fertilize my being.”

She enjoys spending her free time hiking, playing with her dog, enjoying long dinners with friends & family, gardening, reading, listening to music, moon, sun & star gazing as well as cooking.
